we have a 2 hour stopover in paris.
waiting at the gate to go to Niamey
everything is going smoothly.
Last night was a good time of family and friends giving us a wonderful send off and a strong covering of prayer.
Please keep up the petitions on our behalf.
I have been asked maybe 100 times why I am going to Niger.
The shortest answer is because I think it is God's will for me to go.
One reason I believe this is that I have an unrelenting sense of obligation to serve those who have the least in this world and to care about and do something about those who the bible call "the least of these": that is the hungry, the poor, the oppressed, the sick the suffering.
Also, I see this as a wonderful opportunity to be closer to God: to learn and grow in the areas of trust, prayer, and sensitivity to others less fortunate than me. I believe that being in the center of God's will is the safest and the best place to be.
